Is your cellphone 24 hours on ?

Hi mylotters..I have got a very general question for you all..
Do you switch off your cellphone at night?I used to do it,but I want to share an incident.Once I was out of town and my mother got very ill,so,when my father tried calling me,it was switched off.So,he had to take mom to hospital and take care of all the things alone.
I felt so guilty after wards.Since then I never switch off my cellphone..
What do you do?

You are so sweet,I'm sure your parent will always take pride with you~~You are a filial person( I don't kown your gender)
But for me ,I enjoy having sometime of myown,so I always shutdown my phone at 10pm,and turn it on at 6am the next morning.

No my cell phone isn't even on 2 hours per day, this is because I hardly talk to anyone on my phone, I just merely use it in case of emergency only. I use the prepaid instead of a plan, which is just purely for emergency. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I turn mine off when I go to bed and turn it back on when I get up. I have been doing that for a long time now and have never had anyone tryint to message me or try to call me on those hours. My son goes to bed early anyway, as he gets up around 7 every morning to get ready for work. I have had to be at my son's by 7:30 already and that is hard for me, as I have to rusn around to get ready to babysit. I find that I can conserve the battery longer too, by shutting it off. yes. i have it on all the time.
that is what i am getting the cellphone available for ... any emergency call.
this is really a very good invention. in my younger years, it was so hard to get in touch with my parents especially when i need something for myself while studying in the city, which is 3 hours away. what we did was to send letters thru the bus driver and meet him at the appointed day and time.
