I was born in a small town. The most serious problems in my hometown are the backward ideas about a woman's place in the family, school, workplace, and society. These negative stereotypes hurt not only women, but all of society as well. If possible, I would change the attitudes of hte people in my hometown so they would view men and women equally.

That would be a wonderful thing to change! My complaint seems silly compared to your statement! Anyway, here goes. In my hometown, there is a problem with cats and people's attitudes about how they should be treated. Cats are frequently abandoned and intact. There has been a population explosion of cats and kittens since the city tore down a huge low-income housing complex. All those people moved away and left behind their pets. Certain people are threatening to poison and kill the strays but that would put MY pets in jeopardy.
