The first most important thing to do the night before a test is to get a good nights sleep. You might also wish to eat something high in protein and perhaps bring along some hard candy to keep your energy level up during the test. Once the examination begins carefully read the instructions at least twice before you start writing. You might try underlining key words in the question to focus your answer accordingly. Try to budget your time. Sit where you can easily see the clock on the wall. Try to spend only enough time on each question so that you can have enough time to answer as many as possible. In other words, leave more time for harder questions. If it is a multiple choice test it is okay to make an educated guess between two or three choices. But don't guess wildly where there are six or more choices -- -- in that case the odds are against you guessing correctly. If the test is true or false and the question contains the word 'always' or the word 'never', the answer is likely to be false. If the question uses the words 'usually', 'sometimes', or 'often', the answer is likely to be true. If you run out of time while writing an essay at least jot down on an outline of how you intended to answer the essay question.
