Nursery rhymes could be dangerous and scary.

The nursery rhymes are just about the teacher's best teaching material for preschool instruction. There are rhymes though that must be used carefully. The "Rock a bye baby on the tree top" might be a choice for cradling infants to sleep but toddlers wonder what happened to the baby when the cradle fell. Same goes with "Algee met a bear, a bear met Algee, the bear was bulgy the bulge was Algee." This is good for teaching rhymes but if the children are perceptive, they would be afraid of what became of Algee.
