My husband & I are having trouble making our house payment since his pay date was changed. We use to get paid on the same day & would get a large sum of money all at once. Now we getting paid on opposite weeks & it is hard to save money from one week to the next to make the house payment. I had my husband call the mortgage company to see if we could make a partial payment. They said that if you do not send a full payment, the amount will sit in your account until there is enough for a full payment. That is great for us! We will send some one week & more the next to complete the house payment. Have you found any systems that work for you while paying bills?

Credit cards, house notes, anything you owe monthly they will change your due date. Just call them and let them know your situation and they will change it to what you need it to be. Make sure that you know when you want it to change to when you call.

Hubby and I have things divided. I take care of the large rent, and he takes care of the uttilities and grocceries which add up to the same amount as rent. I also take care of my phone. He uses a vonage line with an American number that he takes care of. Some bills can be paid by credit card. I have a pre-paid card from the bank which I like to use because it's pre-paid, so if I don't put money on the card it's not there, and it allows me to collect airmiles. So with the bills my husband is responsible for, that are allowed to be paid on the credit card, I just have him give me the money, I put the cash on my card, and I collect the airmiles, since my card is on a Canadian bank, and the one he has is an American bank without a particular points program. It's a great deal since I get stuff with the points, instead of asking him for money. LOL
