Is 'puppy love' REAL LOVE? or is it just hormones kicking in?

How old were you when you first fell 'in love'? Was it 'real' or did you find yourself in love with a new interest quickly? Did you get your heart broken or did it last into adult life?

I was 20, so I'd say not young enough to answer the question! And it didn't last. Something about his personality bugged me.

Well let me start off by saying that to me ""Puppy Love"" and that of "Crush" are two different things. A crush is just a new interest, either with dating this person or just secretly admiring or loving them from afar. Even so, when I use love, in this context, at least, it means deep admiration. ""Puppy Love"", is affection shared between two people and that can grow into more. Something that can be so deep and last a lifetime, I guess in an example it's an old couple who still hold hands, smile and laugh together... Our Pastor talked with us about puppy love but I don't remember what he said. He does seem to think that we're off to a great start. He's our counselor, before we marry. We're hoping to go to his church, but that's off subject, sorry.

Maybe I didn't use the right term...I was thinking of kids who think they're in love...and it seems so intense to them. In a way it is cute...in a way it is sad. They have such trust...and hope. When you are older and wiser...you know it takes hard work as well as much love to stay together. Maybe that is what your pastor meant.

I was in my teens when I had my first puppy love. But I consider it true love because there were no calculations or expectations. There was just love but I had my heart broken as she denied my love.Yet I love her still without any hatred because I learned what is love from her and I was born new by her. So,I swear first love or puppy love is the best love one can have even if it didn't end successful in marriage.Cheers!

There is a saying...you never forget your first love. I have seen from others that it must be true.
