Don't judge a book by it's cover, literally.

Yesterday at work I had a book by my favorite author, Janet Evanovich, sitting on my desk. A male co-worker saw it on my desk, said this must be quite a book because of the cotton candy pink cover. He really lost it laughing when he read the title of the book, Love Overboard. Talk about judging a book by it's cover, literally! It is a very good book, as are all of Janet Evanovich's books. Do you hate it when someone takes one look at something & makes a rash judgement about it?

Always, and it's the way many people judge each other before the other one opens their mouth. It seems that beauty counts and often so does money or skin color. That is when it is the most annoying. One thing that gets to me is when I take my 3 grand daughters out and because one is 13 and the others are 1 and 2, everyone assumes that they are her children. Part of that is because they are biracial, and I am not, but also because she is very good with them. She has no hang-ups, so could care less, the same as I, but I have talked to strangers, as we are out and many have thought the babies were hers. What I HAVE liked that people have thought, is that she is my daughter and NOT my grand daughter!!

Not My Turn To Die Memoirs Of A Broken Childhood I - The cover of a really good book written by a friend of mine.
He probably said that because you're a "girl" and you were reading a very "girlie looking book" with a very "girlie title." If you'd been a guy reading that book, I bet his reaction would have been totally different. ROFLMAO On the other hand, my freidn Savo Heleta's memoirs have a most effective cover. At the top it shows a picture of him with his little sister Sanja, and some of their childhood toys. Underneath is a picture of their hometown in FLAMES after months of bombings, and in the middle is a strip with the title "Not My Turn To Die memoirs of a broken childhood in Bosnia" THAT has got to be the most effective book cover I have EVER seen, since it illustrates so well the before, the after, and the location of the title is right between the two images. And you have GOT to read his book!! It's wonderful. Hey, leave that on your desk, and see what the guy says, as he walks by.
