i am from a small village in china. i have learned english for many years. but i never communicated with any foreigners in english so far. because there is no foreigners around at all. so i donot know whether what i am using is real english or not. i just read articles in textbooks or some english newspapers for students. i know oral english in daily life is quite different from book english. so i want to know : am i using stardard english just like you? what about these words above?

The key is to learn English on the exchange of books is the foundation, but you have to look after the basis of the exchange. P ractice is very important to find some friends to practice English dialogue, the dialogue when you speak, you can try what very English.

you are right. practice makes perfect. but the key is i cannot find one to practise with. even if there are someone around who can speak english, they are not willing to speak for fear of being laughed at. so sometimes i have to talk to myself, which is really boring so that i cannot keep on.

Hi "long number" LOL. Your English is not perfect but is totally acceptable and I am able to understand exactly what you are asking. You will find that even native English speakers use "bad" English, because it is perfectly acceptable to do so on the internet, and no one questions or corrects you, unless they are extremely rude of course.
You are doing just fine. The more conversations and discussions you get involved in on myLot, the more English you will learn, and you will become more confident with it. I only wish I could learn chinese as well as you have learned English.

thank you for your response, it gives me confidence . in fact, i am in pursuit of perfection, i just want to use what english speaker use in daily life. i donot want to speak written english, i want to speak oral english. anyway, i will become active in mylot and try to get involved in as many conversations as possible and make my english native and stardard. of course, it would be better if i can speak fluent perfect english!
