" By Tradition I do not mean the docile transmission of some dead deposit, but rather the living repetition that manages to suggest a fresh truth. There is no such thing as a tradition that exists of its own accord. Instead, and always, tradition has to be embraced and cultivated." - Demetri Porphyrios

It means this person doesn't believe the traditions can just be created by anyone at any time. The believe that traditions are carried on through time, crafted and "cultivated". Like family traditions. To be a tradition it has to happen for many years. They don't just happen. Until they are practiced for years and continued on, then they aren't traditions.

1. I think its the transfer of your ancestral property or any other form of asset possessed by your ancestors. 2. Instead depending on the ancestral asset its better to live on our own, face the truth of life. 3. you cannot tell its a tradition to rule on ancestral asset or property, and you cannot be dependent on it. instead depending on it its better to cultivate it and bring name and fame to the available tradition, and never let its value get down. I think the above mentioned is the meaning of the said lines kindly let me know if i am near to the point or not, or i am far away from it.
