I have one. I've tryed to get help before but to no avail, so I'll ask you. I have a linksys wireless router. I also have one of those linksys USB adapters. They call it the simplest way to make your PC or laptop wireless. I plug it in the USB port and the plug and play starts installing it. Nothing. I try running the CD. When I do that, the wireless icon appears on the bottom tray, but it's gray. I roll over it and it says disabled, but there's nothing to hit do enable it. I've tried both running the CD and using the plug and play. Still doesn't work. At first I thought it might be the router because I got it from ebay. But now, there are other people in this house that are usung it, so it's not that. The only thing I have not tried is running the CD for the router. I also have a wireless card that I've tried in the past but didn't work. Now, some information you might need. I have an IBM thinkpad A20m. It has a 12 GB hard drive. I'm running windows 2000 professional. And when I go onto Network connections, it only has"local area connection 3" and "make new connection."

did you try putting the driver first before you plug in the usb wireless adaptor? did you already try connecting the loptop directly to the router and if you can connect to the internet it seems that theres something wrong with wireless adaptor because you already mentioned that other's can connect to the router. if you recently purchased that wireless adaptor what i can suggest is for you to bring it back to the store where you got it and have them install it for you. if your using AT&T for your DSL they have there own usb wireless adaptor that i can asure you that it can let your loptop connect wireless and there technical support can properly guide you on how to install it. please reply whatever suggested solutions that i mentioned you will use. hope all things will work out on for your pc .....

Well, I'm about to show you my moderate at best knowledge of computers. I'm not sure how to install the driver. If you mean running the CD first,(because I know some of them have drivers on them) yes. I tried both running the CD first then doing the plug and play, I tried plug and play first then running the CD. I thought about the fact that it might be a problem with the USB adapter itself. I can't take it because, like the wireless router, I got it from e-bay. I also read a few reviews on this model that gave it a bad review. I have Talk America DSL service. I don't think I can hook it directly to th router because, something I forgot to tell you, I get the internet by going from the DSL modem to the USB port, not the ethernet port. I got this laptop used from a computer repair shop and they told me the ethernet port doesn't work, and the router does not have a USB connection. For right now, I'm just going to use my laptop the way it is. Thanks for responding!
