Where is your favourite place?

I was asking friends last night where are their favourite places on go to. Some listed countries, cities and even attractions. For me my favourite place is my childhood holiday home in Austria. I have travelled to many places but Austria brings back such wonderful memories of being young, loved and care free. Where are your favourite places and why?

My favorite country is Samoa and it is a small place in the South Pacific Ocean. It has tropical beaches, cool waterfalls, green rain forest and exciting blow holes by the coast. My second favorite country is Australia for it has stunning landscapes from the red outback to the blue ocean. I love to see its unique and very special wildlife. My third favorite country is New Zealand for it has amazing scenery from green mountains and white glaciers to sandy beaches and old forests.
My favorite city is Sydney. I fell in love with it even before the plane I was on landed. The sight of the harbor from the air is magical and so incredibly beautiful. It has the white sails of the opera house and the gray harbor bridge. The gorgeous beaches stretch north and south of the harbor. My second favorite city is Cape Town and it has lovely views from Table Mountain. The beaches like Camp Cove are superb and seeing the penguins is wonderful.

I can agree with you about Sydney as being a truely wonderful city. I was lucky enough to have stayed there on a couple of occasions and hope that one day I can live there. It is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city but doesnt have the dirty and over-run feel assay London does. I loved the friendliness of the people and the weather is also a bonus.
Cape Town is also a place I have visited. I was there in the 90's and although I enjoyed everything it had to offer there were times when I didnt feel safe. However it was considerbly safer than Joburg! As a country South Africa has so much to offer: beautiful beaches, stunning moutain ranges, it exudes culture and the wildlife blows you away!
