Former President Cory Aquino as National Hero?

Philippines

The world witnessed yesterday how the Filipinos love the former president Cory Aquino as she was finally laid to rest. Her life and sacrifice for our country is undeniably incomparable, and even equally significant as her husband Ninoy did. I think that we need to motivate ourselves so that we can help each other as well as maintaining democracy in our country. Personally speaking, I do believe Cory deserves to be called a national hero. What do you think?

She is truly a hero of our country, the goodness within herself is never selfish.... She shared and showed the not only the Philippines but also to the whole world how she devoted his life for us Filipino's like what her husband Ninoy did. She was never corupt but instead spent her own funds to help people. She gave us the freedom we deserve. She is an icon of democracy. A true mother of all Filipino's. She deserve no more no less a salute from all of us Filipino's. She and her husband Ninoy are true hero's of Philippines.

Yeah, i think she deserves to be called a national hero because of what she had done for the country.. She had done alot in making the country better as well as ousting a corrupted government led by marcos.. PLus, the fact she's able to win 4 straight election, proves that citizens of philippines really like her alot, and she has got what it takes ^_^

She's more than deserving to be one of our National Heroes. But let us leave it to the legislators, they are more than knowldgeable to do it. I would not disagree with the move, if ever. LOL

It is a very appropriate suggestion for the late former president. Knowing how she sacrificed to restore democracy in the Philippines, she truly deserved to become a national hero. Her deep humility, devotion to Catholic faith, protective mother and an icon of democracy, made her unforgettable.

I agree with you. This remarkable woman hav inspired a lot of people emotionally, mentally and spiritually. She was able to motivate even the lower people behind her how to be kind, brave and prayerfull. By the testimonies that was given during her wake, these people have shown how good President Aquino was. Even through her pains, she is still trying to do her best to fight for what she is aiming for.. Democracy, peaceful and secured country. She as a national hero is a perfect candidate for this together with her husband Ninoy Aquino who in returned also did the same. These two amazing people have given up their lives for the Filipino people and they have done this selflessly. I just hope that both of them could a national hero.
