HI MYLOT FRIEND WHAT A SILLY QUESTION YOU ASKED ,, I SUPPORT JIMMY BUT TO A DETAILED VERIFICATION THE DAY AND NIGHT OF THE EARTH IS DEPENDING UPON THE ROTATION PATTERN OF THE EARTH NOT ON THE REVOLUTION PATTERN OF THE EARTH ,, IF AFTER SOME DAYS THE EARTH ROTATES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THEN YOU WILL SEE THE SUN IS RISING IN THE WEST SIDE AND SETS IN THE EAST SIDE ..

Tricky question..very very tricky question... Jokes apart,it's due to the revolution pattern of the earth around the sun.The earth rotates from east to west around it's axis and so the sun rises in the east.. more facts:- 1.it takes approximately 8 mins for the sun's rays to reach the earth. 2.it is thought that the sun also rotate from east to west, alongwith the solar system around some other heavenly body.. Happy Mylotting.....
