When do you say "enough is enough!" in a relationship?

I am often frustrated how some people still continue a relationship that is stagnant or even destructive to both party. I wonder, when do they say that the relationship is over??
What can you call them? Martyrs? Fool? Dumb? Or simply "madly" in love? I believe people are given a mind to be wise in their judgments and decisions. It is often said that the mind is placed higher that the heart because the mind's decision is more objective and therefore reality based. Unlike the heart which is based on emotion, which is very subjective and unstable.
I always pray for love ones to be wise in choosing the people they will get involved with... I believe there is a right person out there just wait and prepare yourself when the opportunity comes. So that we will not end up with the wrong person and suffer the consequences terribly... pain that will lead us to say "enough is enough"
