I think that a long distance relashionship cannot prosper to the extent that it may do when the person is near you. I think long periods of not seeing someone or spending time with them will break down any relationship (except family). If a friend moves away you will probably see your friendship 'slow down' but if it is a love relationship this may take longer. However, if this is for a shorter period of time (few months) then it is definitely workable as you will know there isn't a long time until you see your beloved again. So that is that! I hope i helped you out and i hope your relationships will prosper. -Muffin8or

i think it will work okay, ice. but it will need real patience, understanding, and love. i know of someone who was having this long distance relationship and they were courting the whole time, text messaging, sending letters to one another and then after more than a year, they finally met. it was so wonderful. now they have moved to USA where the man is based and they have a beautiful little girl in tow. great isnt it? ann

My husband worked in Arizona for a while, and I lived in Ontario. We were long distance for a couple of years, until he retired, and came up to Canada to stay with me. It can work out just fine, when the two people involved really love eachother. People really have to love eachother to make it work.
