Malpractice!

I think malpractice laws should apply to all professionals, not just doctors. What about the nurses who promise to care, and don't? What about the car salesman who lies just to get a sale? Or the landlord that promises a safe and sanitary home but doesn't supply anything more than barely adequate slum? What about the lawyers who take your case and fail and still charge you your soul, an arm, and your left leg? What about the banker and credit card people who forget to mention the small print, and don't care that you get stuck paying for it? Or the mechanic, who fixes the flat tire and slightly damages the brakes just to get you to come back? The teachers who don't really bother to teach...the school bus driver who didn't meant to lose your kid?

In most of the instances you have mentioned, there are laws in regards to those things... There are lemon laws, bad business practice laws, landlord and tenant or housing code laws... Teachers ultimately have to answer to superintendents and the school board. The fine print thing unfortunately, not always things that can be done about that. There's usually just a certain amount of research that has to be done, and usually a chain of command that has to be followed.

Thank you for responding. I do realize there are laws and such in place for all that, but not as easy and often as malpractice. Seems it takes a lot of research just to know your rights in such matters, and the lawyers take no real interest in stuff like that, cuz they can't make millions of dollars off some business man who sold bunk insurance, or lied to sell a car. It is often difficult to even know what proper procedures and rights are as a consumer...I've never known where to go to get the answers to some of the scams, and bad business I've been through, or I would have sued. lol
