Barrackpore sub-division, under District of North 24 Parganas in the state of West Bengal. The name Barrackpore, originated from the word barracks. Barrackpore also has a couple of research institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The city is about 23 km from Kolkata. The dominant political parties in the subdivision are the CPI(M).

I have been to kolkata few times their is so much rush and traffic, but some areas are very good and pleasant also, I love the bridge, zoo and other monuments their Kolkata is a Royal City
