i have nothing against both but if you would research the sanitary standards of salons to ensure that the clients receive their money's worth you'd be surprised if there is any in your vicinity that adheres to these standards. you might be persuaded by your discovery to try to learn both manicure and pedicure on your own. peace .

I've always wanted to but I've never quite had the extra money to do it. My mom always painted her own nails so thats what I've always done. I had my nails done when I went to Jr and Sr prom but that's it. I had acrylics put on one year and they bugged me because I'm not used to nails. I prefer painting my toenails myself and just leaving my fingernails unpainted. Its a lot more affordable.

I visit the parlor 2x a month, sometimes 3x a month. Since you havent had your nails done, dont start it, because the moment you started having your nails done, youll have to maintain it every month. Its worth the money though because manicurist will really go and clean it out from the inside but like i said, once you start doing it, its going to be part of your monthly schedule.

no have not as i have this aversion to being touched by strangers. i have heard however that these can be very relaxing and great for both the hands and feet. i am not too keen on catchign hepatitis though from unsanitary implements there, and yes it is possible. i guess if you go to somewhere really fancy and reputable you will be safe. it is however in my estimation a waste of money, i say this because you can get yourself a kit and do it yourself or you and your girlfriends can have a mani/pedi party and do each others nails and whatnot. if however you have some special social event where you have to look your most optimum, or if you just want to treat yourself then yes mani-pedis can be good. i would not recommend acrylic nails though as they are known to weaken the nail bed and those fumes are not very good either. and if you have them put in, that means that you have to pay some more money to have them professionally removed.

Hello Yelrihs! I've been getting my nails done for a very, very long time. It makes me feel great. Pedicure I usually do it myself to save some money. It does feel good. I think you should get the pedicure done at least once, you will feel so relaxed. Ok, I know you asked how often and how much does it cost. If you get acrylic nails you have to get your fills done every other week, however I get mine done once a month. Because your nails have acrylic on top, the nail polish stays on until you remove it. That's the best part. :) Every salon and spa is different as far as prices. The salon I go too cost me $18 for fills. I think we disserve $18 per month on ourselfs. And, I personally think it's worth every penny. :) Take care my friend and happy mylotting! :)

Hello yelrihs, Since I'm male I don't get manicures or pedicures. But even if I was a girl I wouldn't because I've heard it can be quite expensive. Cheers! Thok

Yes i use to have manicure and pedicure every 2 weeks it gives our hands and feed a relaxing feeling when they are clean and neat, it is also important because people can really see us that we have a clean toe nails and finger nails, I am feeling that the hands and toes are really feeling well when they have been manicure and pedicure.

Yes I have done pedicure but not manicure. I go for pedicure whenever there's an occasion I attend to like in weddings or if I have extra money like once in two months or when I don't like to trim my nails myself or when I feel my nail has grown an ingrown. I go to a salon just across from the street of my house so very near. I like the girl doing my pedicure coz she really has light hands and it doesn't hurt. She also trims my hair wheneve I need a haircut.

Unfortunately no, I prefer not to have manicure because I personally do my laundry and it is inconceivable to have my fingernails painted. I dreaded to have pedicure too because I am afraid to get infections from wound around my toes.hehe

Yes I have had both done and the pedicure is to die for. Massaging the leg and the feet and getting rid of dry skin, soaking in soapy water, being rubbed with lotion while sitting in a chair that vibrates massaging your back its the best. I love it but can't afford it has much as I would like to go. Has for maintenace its up to you if you feel you have to go back to keep it up. I think most girls go every two weeks if they can afford it. When I can't afford it I do it myself at home or my daughter does it for me and visa versa.

I do it by myself, pedicure and manicure once a month, to prevent, damaging nail, or even when we have an occasion.

Hi yelrihs! I often have pedicure done sometimes once a week or once every two weeks. I only have manicure done on occasions only because my work does not permit me to have one. My mother and my sister have the same manicurist who is our neighbor who does home services from time to time. I would suggest that you choose a certain manicurist who does give you a really good pedicure and manicure. And I would suggest that you find one who practices good sanitary. Ideally, they should sterilize (or just dip in a hot water) their paraphernalia before and after using them to one person, that way there won't be any transmission of certain diseases.
