Should not eat while eclipse??

Dear friends,
In our region there is a restriction that during Eclipse we should not take any foods. Before Eclipse start the food we took must have been digested and after Eclipse left we should take a bath and then take any food even water. I do not know the reason behind this.

This is just a myth, created by man. Eclipses have been happening from the beginning of time. Myths were created by man to try to keep people from the danger that they perceived, not the reality of no danger.. The real danger of an eclipse as the previous responder stated, is looking at the eclipse. This can be very dangerous causing blindness without warning of pain.

I have lived through a number of eclipses during my 50 plus years here, and i have never heard of such things. I do not know what the reasoning behind such things would be. I have never followed such things during eclipse.
The only thing that you should not do during the one type is look directly at the sun. but that is something that you should not do any time.
