I think a similar topic was started by someone else in the past, and myLot staff replied they do what they can to delete this kinda posts, but we need to help them by using the alert button above every first post in a discussion.

I have just became a member of MyLot...and my intersts are making money. My first post was about making money, what sites they use, if they make money, ect.... I wouldn'nt think that to just drop referral links are appropriate, but a discussion of paying programs should not e banned. I am always looking for new programs to try out, and I am hoping I will find some interesting ones here. Trading links should be "allowed" if someone asks. Bedazzeled

I have posted my websites to discussions that pertained to the things I do. I don't think there is any shame in that. It would be different if I posted a discussion topic using one of my website...that would be tacky.

This is a free site and since there are no rules and regulations framed here, till such time, one can promote whatever they like.

Well, I just realized that in answering a question I promoted the one I am affiliated with. I think that is fine as long as someone doesn't join and post with only the idea of spamming their own site. It's ok if you share it if the discussion question can be answered by linking to it.

In general, URL dropping is allowed if it's pertinent to the discussion (like classicaljazz said above). But spamming is never OK.

Not really, only if it has something to do with a topic being discussed.

If it is related to the topic that is being discussed then I think it would be ok, but to just make up discussions to promote it should be considered spamming!

Mabye set up some sort of rule? Like you can't promote referral links or something. But promoting personal websites or favorites should be ok.
