I am planning to have a vacation to Thailand in near future. Anyone who have been to Thailand or who live in Thailand can help me to list all the places I can go. A little explanation on the place will be very helpful and why you like the place. Thanks

If you plan to travel around Thailand I guess its time for you to plan now. There are too many interesting places to visit in Thailand that you wouldn't want to miss. Bangkok will be the best shopping paradise. The famous weekend market Chatuchak, Suan Lum Night Bazaar, Pat pong night market. Pubs, clubs, Ping pong Shows, Tiger Shows... You name it you got in in Bangkok! Islands - I reckon that you have to go both to Krabi and Phuket. Phi Phi Island is one of tourist favorite. There are many islands in both Krabi and Phuket. James Bond Island, Koh Phanga, Koh Lanta, Koh Racha and etc... They do offer daily island hoping tour which only cost 450 Baht per person on some certain islands via the traditional long tail boat. Yes you get to snooker and swim at every island. - Ayuthaya - The ancient buddhist temple that you have got to visit. It does looks like one in Siem Reap in Cambodia. Take a bus up North to Bangkok to the tiger temple. Have fun yourself and you are allow to take pictures with the tigers. Take a train to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai up North somewhere in the higher latitude. Discover the native long neck Thai people's culture and food. Peak seasons starts from December - April.

It depends on what you want to see - try to see one of the temple in Thailand such as the Grand palace as that is quite nice and for a beautiful beach try Phuket or somewhere a bit quieter is Koh Lanta though you would need to probably go via Karbia to get there. Bagkok is great for shopping and take some time to just take in the atmosphere etc. Don't forget to have a ride in a tuk tuk!!

You will probably fly to Bangkok. It might be fascinating for you to see the Golden Temple there, the floating market and go shopping in the delightful handicraft market. I know there are trains to Chang Mai where you might like to do a trek in the nearby countryside seeing the local villagers. You might wish to go back to Bangkok and get a train to the south then a bus and finally a boat to go island hopping. There are so many different islands to choose from. Happy traveling to wonderful Thailand.

Thanks for the reply. I am interested to go to Chang Mai. It looks interesting to enjoy the countryside. What do we do in island hopping? What is the attraction there?

Thanks busky. I definitely come to the beaches. Surely Phuket is the famous one. I am not very sure about the others. Never heard of it. I need to do some research before I am going there
