I often hear people say that there's no instant way to achieve success. It's a long and difficult way. You need to experienced many trial and error before achieve your goals. Nowadays, many advices come from everyone, even now, we can just type our problem here in mylot and some advices will appear. With so many e-books and search engine, we can type what we need and search everything we need by ourselves. Seems like trial and error just a waste of time.. That's why people buy many books and ask for advice, to reduce trial and error that maybe happen and, if possible, reach success without trial and error to save time. What do you think about trial and error nowadays? People wanna do everything faster now. Is it important or a waste of time? Actually, what do you hope from ask other advices, buy e-books or read other people experience? To reduce the amount of trial and error that may happen to you? To save time? Please share it here Thanks,,

Trial and error leads to success. Advice can be helpful but unless you actually get the bruises and the scars of your mistakes you can't really understand where you ae going wrong in my opinion. Try telling a child that the flame on a fire will burn. Ok they will understand that there is something bad going to happen but until they really feel the heat they will not know what 'burn' means It's great to receive advice and we should consider it from all the different angles and then plod on, if necessary, tripping up too. Then we will know what not to do next time.

There must be trial and error to reach success! No e-book can give us 'experience'.That is what we gain ourselves and only with that will we get there. It's like going to the top of the mountain by helicopter. We get there but we miss the view and all the bruises - they are what make success.

Hi mysD As usual,,wise answer from you.. That's right, I ever touch fire in stove because I wanna feel "hurt" and "hot".. my parents angry to me but I felt satisfy,, now I know "hot" and "hurt",, but don't you think your purpose search for advices, information, etc,is to save time? If we follow other's advice, we can prevent ourselves to make samk mistakes as them. Do you think it's possible someone can reach success without trial and error? Many method or e-books says, "no need trial and error, just follow this step by step" Thanks for sharing, mysD

Hi ChrysanTflower, I think trial and error still has a big way especially for a beginner. More so if that is about practical subject and not theories. All we received from internet are theories. And sometimes we received a few ways to solve a single problem. Some problem solution also available or applicable in certain condition or country. So we still have to try it anywhere to see the efficiency of that methods. Just like when we want to learn to drive a car. We can get all kind of theories on how to be a good driver. But we still to do some practice and it is some kind of trail and error too. Am I correct to give this example?

Hi akuler Yes, all we received, all advices and information that we've got only theories.. So you think trial and error is important because some method must be tried to see its efficiency.. Of course, you give a correct and simple example. You make me remember the first time I drove a car. In which situation you feel more proud to yourself, when you achieve your goal without trial and error (found a method, practice it and get success immediately) or achieve your goal after 4 or 5 trial and error? Thanks for sharing

To found a way at the first attempt is the most appreciated thing. And this is what we always looking for. But a few fail attempt would give you an experience too. You know what you shouldn't do in that case. And this is very important especially if you have a problem later on. We might succeed in our first attempt but as time goes by and some conditions changes, we might have a problem again. Experience from our trial and error might help us in this case. Succeed in first attempt can save our time and money but trail and error can enrich our knowledge and experience. This knowledge and experience is more valued as time goes by.

You're right.. First attempt is the hardest. If we can reach i without trial and error we will feel happy and that happiness can motivated us to reach another success. On the way and as time goes by,,there will be some problems that will appear and each people face different problem.. You describe it perfectly.. Thanks

As far as I am concerned we mature with our experiences. As we grow older we are mellowed with the trial and errors. We are our best advisors and generally not others who definitely have some ulterior motives in advising including the book writers who like to see their coffers filled up fast with the sales of advising books.

Hi balasri You're right, experienced make us grow mature. I like your point that we are our best advisor. yes, no one know you better than yourself. Sometimes the advices in book not always right and fit our condition. Some of the books only provide basic information and the people who promote it not really wanna know about us, they just wanna boost their book's sales. Thanks for sharing

Hi ChrysanTflower, According to me, Success and failure - 2 sides of the same coin Trial and error are usually the prime means of solving life’s problems. Yet many people are afraid to undertake the trial because they’re too afraid of experiencing the error. They make the mistake of believing that all error is wrong and harmful, when most of it is both helpful and necessary. Error provides the feedback that points the way to success. Only error pushes people to put together a new and better trial, leading through yet more errors and trials until they can ultimately find a viable and creative solution. To meet with an error is not to fail, but to take one more step on the path to final success. No errors means no successes either. As Thomas Edison said, -Just because something doesn't do what you planned it to do in the first place doesn't mean it's useless.... Results? Why, man, I have gotten lots of results! If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is often a step forward.... Sametime, we can also learn from other mistake which is giving an another experience to us and saving our time. Failure is a learning opportunity, but only if you let it be. More often than not failure is seen as something that should be hidden and avoided and never admitted to. If we never fail, we haven't set our goals high enough! Happy Postings! Have a Great time!

Hi raghul77ster Now I get a wonderful answer right there! Of course, it just two side of the same coin. But I think it depends on the person too. If the person see error as the end, they will never make progress and vice versa. I like your answer and quote from Edison,,thanks! Every failure is one step forward too, and we can always ask other people to help us, so we're not wasting our times..

As far as am concerned Trial & Error is the way to go, but there is no harm in asking for a advice from the right person at the right time. Trial and Error takes it own course of time and rightly capitalized it can give better results plus one gains his own experience. Yes today getting an advice is much more easier now, this actually can not the charm of experiencing a situations on the face with any help from outside.

Hi hsb123 You're right, no harm in asking for advice. Trial and error will teach us something new and give us better result. Although advices will make our way easier, but still we don't get any experience if we never do trial and error. Thanks for your response

I think no matter how much knowledge someone gets from other people, what works for some does not necessarily work for others. Some people give bad advice. I think no matter what, we all have to live and learn by our own experiences. The school of hard knocks, live and learn, when at first you don't succeed, try try again....some of the quotes we use that will never disappear.

Hi mzz663 Yes, not all advices suitable for us. We need to learn from our own experience too. Try, try, and try again.. I experienced this and sometimes I feel tired to try and try again.. But I know you're right, that's old quotes that will never disappear. Thanks for sharing

let take doing programming coding for example, i think is very improtant to use trial and error to stimulate whether the coding logic able to work out or not. But if daily routine prespective, is really a wasting time as we will try to get help from other first before we really go to trial and error.

Hi wwkeen That's a nice example, programming! Yes, it depends on the situation and the field. We need other advice first, try it and then experience trial and error. Thanks for sharing

I think its still important for us to make a trial and error. Learning something to achieve successful has to through not easy way. May be up to each of us to choose the best way to make our trial and error not too wasting time. We have to do more efficient and be predicted.Or find the other way your trial and error to save the time. I remember the motto that practise makes perfect.

Hi shimanaja You're right, we need to choose the best way,,thus we can save our time. Nowadays we need to be more efficient but still, we need trial and error. Practise makes perfect..I wonder what's the meaning of that quote (I read it for 6 years! that quote always shown in my notebook) now I know its meaning.. Thanks for sharing

In business, that is probably right. In medicine, its guided by principles and ethics. Whatever the case may be, there will some form of trial and error especially if you are just in the beginning. I guess the harsh reality is there is no fast way to success aside from sound judgment: which trial and error tests will get me to my goal. Easier said than done, eh?

Hi, biz_qwaszx Of course,,it will be dangerous for people's life if it related to medicine! Yes, I experienced it and wondering is it normal? Harsh reality..yes, you're right,,no fast way. Really, easier said than done,,but seems like that's the reality.. Thanks for sharing,,have a nice day
