Does anyone believe Africa can become wealthy

I had a long thought on this subject to end up without any evident conclusiion to the matter. It started with if Africa has being cheated by so called richer nations and as such can never move out of it poverty or that the leaders of African countries are so corrupt and love power to the extent that they will do everything including destroying their own people.
However it is worth stating that a few countries there have started showing so many good signs not forgetting recent President Obama in Ghana and the fact that the world cup 2010 is currently coming to SouthAfrica. With this recent events i still believe that Africa might one day stand up to other nations to push poverty out of the world.
So what is your personal opinion.

Africa has a good chance of becoming wealthy, as there are many oil and diamond mines there, as well as other natural resources. However, their governments are corrupt so they won't get far. They first need to reform their governments.

with your response in the need to reform their government did you mean a change in system of government or a change in its current leaders since you really did not clarify yourself

Some countries in Africa have got quite wealthy and others are still in a terrible state of poverty. Some African countries have tourism like South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt and the Gambia. The Cape Verde Islands are fairly new to tourism. I hope Africa will get more wealthy and healthy.
