I didn't knew that MyLot can terminate my account for not tagging my disscusions. I have readed tagging FAQ's and nowhere says that my account can be terminated for not tagging my discussions. However i just got an alert saying that i should tag my discussions or my account will be terminated. I just forget to tag sometimes or because I am in a hurry, anyways I will tag everytime in the future. Did that message appeared to you? Should i tag when I comment in other people discussions too, or just when i create? Thanks!

No, what the alert was talking about was people ABUSING tags. Some people lately have been putting tags in other peoples discussions that are insulting, inflamitory and harrassing. This is what mylot has threatened to begin suspending people for, the use of tags to harrass other users. We are not required to tag discussions and we won't be suspended for not tagging discussions. No worries friend.

Thanks for clearing up the issue. I also became concerned with the alert. At first, I thought they might mean broad tags such as "reform" on a health care discussion. Then I started reading the postings and saw that some people had been doing some inappropriate behavior.

The alert went out to ALL members of mylot in response to the fact that people have been leaving ABUSIVE tags on people's discussions, it is the ABUSIVE tagging that will get a person's account terminated. Leaving APPROPRIATE tags or not tagging at all will not hurt you in any way. I hope this helps clear things up for you. As long as you are not leaving nasty tags you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the info AngryKittyMSV. Indeed, rather leave it un-tagged instead of using the wrong tags. Anyways, other users who will respond to your discussion can do the tagging for you. But here's a question i'd like to ask: does tagging twice account for a penalty?

Yes, I received that alert too. It didn't say that myLot would terminate an account for not tagging properly. It just said that it would terminate an account if the owner of that account uses abusive tags. But even if it didn't say anything about not tagging discussions, I would tag all of my posts from now on just in case.

Rules. - Haha this picture is cute because just like rules there just more like you can and you can't do type of things. haha.. Well yeah.. Rules are okay and good and sometimes easy to follow. I post this picture for the response to this discussion about mylot rules and etc.. Hopefully you like it leave a comment.. =]
Hey Jul14nch0, I don't think mylot will get mad if you don't really tag users discussion and responses and comments, photos and etc. If they did have a problem with it I don't think they will have a SKIP button next to the submit button. I think they whole reason for mylot having this rules is because Some mylot users have been abusing this tag method.. and they have been saying inappropriate things To be honest I think Mylot is just becoming more strict and strict so they can get rid of this users who are joking around and not taking things seriously and All these trolls/ Dolls breaking Rules on Mylot Which isn't cool.. All I can say for you to do is follow the rules if not they will banned you mylot does not play I'm sure of that haha..Well yeah keep on participating and following the guidelines and everything will be okay. And Everyone got this alert haha..=] Take care..

hi Jul 14 nch0, No mylot would never terminate your account if you do not tag. The alert was for tagging only and that too if you use vauge tags regularly or use the tags which do not follow my lot policies. Looks like mylot is getting tougher than ever before. I came today here after a month or so and feel there are going to be some changes out here..May be they got too big and they can not handle so much members..but i feel this is right step as it is no use tagging a discussion on dogs as neobux..

Even I got a similar alert today. That my MyLot account can be terminated as I am not using proper tags. I always try to put tags related to the discussion but may be I am doing somewhere a mistake. Can the experienced people in MyLot guide us how to tag a particular discussion so that we can tag the discussions according to the rules of MyLot. And when should we tag a discussion or a reply.

Don't worry about it, everyone got that message. The admins of myLot sent that because a lot of trolls are spamming the tags.

I have recently started back on mylot, and have to admit there have been a lot of changes in the time I've been away. The alert you are talking about is a general message which has been sent by the admins to all members to ensure there is some discipline in the discussions. Tagging ensures that the discussion is targeted towards the right audience and in that helps in getting more responses. On the other hand, if not tagged properly or with proper keywords, it may attract undesired attention from the admins. I believe this is a step which would only help in improvement of the forum.

I think this message was sent to everyone here on myLot, so I don't think they were just targeting some of the members. Not making tags doesn't get your account deleted. I don't think. Just for mean or inappropriate tags, I believe. So you have nothing to worry about.

I also got an alert just now. I think every member here in mylot got that alert. Mylot gives that alert only to inform those who use it incorrectly. So if you use it correctly, I think is is unnecessary to worry about it.

Even i got that alert yesterday. I was a bit taken aback. I used to skip tags most of the time coz i dint like tagging. but now i do regularly. even my discussion has been tagged by someone else inappropriately, so it is better to tags i think.

Well, as the various other people who have commented before me have told you by now, not tagging will not get your account terminated, it is leaving tags that are nonsense or have nothing to do with the discussion that will get your account terminated.
