It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills. The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development." Are you kidding me?! With whose parental principles and values? Their own? Certain experts'? From what field and theory of childhood development? As if there are one-size-fits-all parenting techniques! Do we really believe they would contextualize and personalize every form of parenting in their education, or would they merely universally indoctrinate with their own? Welcome to the NEW WORLD ORDER.

I am past the parenting stage of my life but this really ticks me off because it is just one on the many hidden issues of government control taking over every aspect of American life from the abortion issue to get rid of grandma she is costing too much to keep alive. This will soon not the be the land of the free of which I chose to become a citizen.

Something tells me that this might be something like already happens through the Regional Centers in California, various programs helping women whose husbands are being deployed ,etc... In the case of parents of developmentally delayed children, social workers and parents of other developmentally delayed children sometimes go out to parental homes and discuss the stages of development, test to see if developmental milestones for speech, etc. are being met and provide needed services like speech therapy, physical therapy, etc. under Regional Center guidelines to help prepare these children for school, to learn to talk, etc. as without this therapy they might not develop necessary skills.. In the case of the those who are deployed... the at home moms and dads are sometimes hooked into various programs that will provide them with some helpful support regarding child rearing, knowing developmental milestones (ages that most kids so something like walk, etc. so that they can prepare to deal with and assist their children through these developmental stages, nutrition tips, and the location of various community resources that can assist them. There are also times where there has been a need for social workers to go out and assist parents of babies who are insecure about the whole idea of parenting... Hospitals presently have these programs to assist parents and children alike and to deal with situations of post partem depression.... To have these kinds of programs covered in an insurance plan makes sense... I think norris it taking things out of context in his opinion piece... It would be good to find out the true intention of the bill that was written... but I think that as that is not the bill that will be going up for the final vote as that, I think, was only a house trial balloon, it does not make much difference.... I would not worry too much about government snooping any more than it already does into your private affairs.... There is a a little humor in that statement because of what Bush and Clinton already did to kill our present right of privacy or the fourth ammendment right against illegal search and seizure.
