The Pros and Cons of Twilight

I know a lot of people are going to hate me for this, but admittedly, I don't think Twilight is a very good book at all. And I'm pretty sure I'm no the only one, and for things to be fun, let's turn this into a grand debate. Which side will prevail? Twilight=Good or Twilight=BLECH. [The Saga, not only the first book if you may.] Please keep things civil and remember: Everyone is entitled to their own opinions

i like part one very much, especially the last few chapters, which i couldn't help stopping reading until the end.but when i got to part two NEW MOON,that excitement didn't happen to me any longer.the author seemed to use too many words in the plot when Edward left.and i heard that in the rest three books, the plots became sort of weird.anyway,i will keep my patience to finish it,and then post my complete comments here.

I personally liked the Twilight books, Bella and Edward's romance was quite captivating. For me Twilight was interesting because it was a twist on a human-vampire romance. When the movie came out, I was sorely disappointed, however.

I am reading the series for the first time right now. I just finished the third book. Right now I am having problems comparing this series to the Harry Potter series because I also read it after it was complete. I have enjoyed the books because Bella could be my friend. She has very human traits and emotions. I can relate to her clumsyness and many other aspects (not the vampire thing, I live in reality). I enjoy how the books end without a cliff hanger. You know that something else will happen but at the same time the book stands on its own. I have not seen the movie, nor do I plan to because Bella is my friend and I will not let hollywood ruin that. What did you not like about the books?

Everyone is most definitely entitled to their own opinion! I personally enjoyed Twilight. I honestly did not expect much from the series when I was first prodded into reading it, but I can truly say that I was happy with the books. I got pretty involved with the love between Edward and Bella, and even while Bella would irritate me at times, it wasn't enough for me to disregard it as a bad series. To me, it's one of those types of stories that you can just get lost in the unrealistic epic of love, which can be fun, and even emotionally fulfilling to an extent! Who doesn't like the guilty pleasure of a fantastical daydream starring a character completely devoted to you, such as Edward is to Bella? But that's just me ;)

You know I've always been someone who delves into books however, they are usually complicated, and you know the kind of book you have to really think about, pay attention to. And now that I'm a mom- I found myself reading elmo books and finding pictures in animal books. There were no time for my books. For long involved, chapter books. So when a friend handed me her twilight book, I was more than a little skeptical- it seemed very teeny-bopper. Then I found I could read it. It was a real book, but light enough that it was no big deal if I had to put it down for any reason, a diaper change, to go play outside, to hold someone in my arms till they fell asleep. So I've loved the twilight series, because it's not barbie or abc's- I guess I just like having a grown up book back in my life that doesn't take away from my life.

It's really not the best book, but there are some interesting ideas in it. My favorite is the fact that instead of Myer bemoaning the fact that she has no original plot, she utilizes it by incorporating quotes from other books, like Wuthering Heights.

Well, for me, it all depends on what you're looking for when you pick up the book. If you are looking for some hardcore reading that will challenge your mind completely then Twilight equals blech. However, if you are just looking for a fun read, then Twilight equals good. It has a little bit of everything. Romance, intrigue, action, suspense. I admit it's not one of my favorite series, but I got into it all the same.
