Sidekicks, and texting devices

What do you guys think of them...? A lot of people feel they are/should be only for teens, but I feel like they are very useful. My big brother even has one and he's 33! It's stressful and costly to make phone calls all the time to people, classmates, co-workers, family members. Txting is quick and more simple especially if it's not that important. I also love AIM use for it. But for some reason a lot of people discriminate on it... I don't understand why it's just another cellular device lol. I don't see the big deal at all. What about you guys? Anyone own a Sidekick, or any type of txt messaging, AIM supported device?

I like to text but I hate the sidekick phones. They truly are devices tailored more for teens. You can text with blackberrys and Smartphones the same way you text with a sidekick.

Personally, I'd rather call & talk to people than text messages... But everyone has different preferences & needs... My boss in one job gets sucked into a lot of meetings & there are times he won't pick up the phone... If I really need to talk to him, I do text him to call me back because it's urgent, and he does excuse himself out of the meeting to call me... He gets more text messages & emails on his phone than phone calls... He is 54 & the owner of the company I work for & he carries sidekick because it makes it easier for him to get stuff done with it than other phones... I know a lot of his co-workers & friends make fun of him, in a friendly kidding way of course, because he's the only one in his position without blackberry... But he loves it...

Up until about 2 month ago, he had sidekick II but he bought a new one... Whatever the newer model is, I haven't really keeping up with the phone world so I'm not so sure about the model number but like I was saying, it's one of the newest one... It is pretty small company... Everyone who work there are very friendly & it's almost like a family enviroment...

I had a sidekick at one time, and I am a grandmother. I feel that you are never to old for cell phones. I really didnt' like the sidekick all that much, and I really don't know why I bought it, but I guess I liked the looks of it, so I bought it. I am now with Verizon Wireless and they have nicer phones that t-mobile does, at least I think so anyway. My phone is a touch screen and I can text with it too, but probably won't use it all that much even though I have unlimited text messaging on my plan. I never have text messaged much. I guess that is more for teens, but I do have grandsons that re a long ways away from me, so that is really the only way I can communicate with them, espeically the older one. I can text my dauther too, if I want to, I think I bought the phone more for typing websites, as I do have the internet on the phone. I have used that already, as I can come into mylot on here as well. Take care, and happy mylotting.
