What is your favorite pasta sauce?

I grew up around a lot of Italian families, so I'm very used to having pasta and 'gravy' or sauce. I love homemade tomato sauce. If I go out to an Italian restaurant I usually order vodka sauce. That is my ultimate favorite sauce. It's made with tomato, cream and vodka. Yummy! Just courious as to everyone's sauce picks. Maybe we can get some new sauce ideas.

My mom and dad are Italian so they usually make there own sauce. But if they don't we usually use Prego.
That's what I use at home. I don't know how to cook or bake. so if they do make the sauce I usually go and get some. But other wise I don't know how to make it.
I never tried the vodka sauce how is that?

Definitely take advantage of the homemade sauce. It freezes well. If I make a huge pot, I usually freeze a few containers and then I have sauce for several days. I also sometimes use Prego or other brands and then add stuff to it. Vodka sauce is really yummy. It's basicly tomato sauce with heavy cream and vodka, so it looks a bit pinkish. You can add chicken or ham. It's great with penne or ziti. Thanks for the comment!

Your welcome I definetly take advantage of moms homemade sauce.
Yeah I like to try the vodka sauce. I do love penne and zita spagetti.

my favorite pasta sauces are alfredo and marinara.I am a huge fan of seafood pasta.whether with alfredo sauce or red sauce,I love seafood pasta with lots of tomatoes and cheese.I love a lot of mussels,clams,shrimps,and squids in my pasta.top it off with lots of cheese and I'm in heaven!

My favorite is pesto sauce.. it is very yummy and good for health but I wish I know how to cook pesto... by the way, Wow, you know how to make sauces.. I hope I can learn to make one myself and serve it.. It is good to feel that you make one yourself..right? You feel that you're at home.

I agree, pesto sauce is very good. That's one of the sauces that I really haven't made from scratch. I have made it from a Knorr mix and it was very good. They have a regular pesto and a red pepper pesto, which is also very good. You should practice making sauces. Just throw in different ingredients and see what tastes good to you. That's how you learn. I find cooking very relaxing and rewarding. Good luck and thanks for the comment!

in terms of sauce, i would say "matriciana" (bacon and onions with tomato sauce), otherwise carbonare is pretty much awsome.

carbonara, sorry! i should say that it's some sort of eggs and bacon along with the pasta. yummy!
