If you ask anybody where is he going to study or which country did he prefer to settle down , the answer is one.Its UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Why is it so that people prefer going to USA?

Living in America is both hard work and great pleasure. America is one of those countries where people actually do have power and can correct anything that bothers them, if they are actually up to it. This is why United States is called the land of opportunity; the American freedom presents you an opportunity and it is entirely up to you how you choose to use it.

The only bad thing is that alot of Americans are getting lazy. They'd rather have a ton of kids and set around on welfare than do work (my cousin did this). I can't stand it. I'm not talking about those that are on welfare because they actually NEED it, it's just the people that abuse the system that annoy me.

not anymore she's not. Now that welfare said they take child support if you get welfare I think she's actually taking the child support since she gets more. Talk about a user. I can't stand her.

well, some people are like that they're passing their obligations to someone else. Later in life your cousin will regret her action towards her children. When her children get old they'll do the same as what their mother did to them and if not she will be blame and hate her for life. Is your cousin young?

There are many chances and opportunities here that make people want to study at universities here. We have many rights that some people in some countries do not have at all.

Very expensive to go to college though. I should know. Paying over $5,ooo a quarter!(not including books) Tuition is going up again next quarter, I'm gonna have to find a different school.

I think because its the powerful country and much opportunity out there, thats why many are aspiring to go to America. And also so many beatutiful places are there, the facilities is of course very advanced everything are well organized even in medicine, works, studies and others, but I dont know if until now they want to go there since there is a recession.

The Great Depression. Now THAT was a recession. They actually rationed flour and sugar. What we are going through now is nothing compared to that.

Lol, what recession. I seriously wonder if it's not the economists and media that make this stuff up. Yeah, people are losing their houses, but if they weren't trying to live beyond their means in the first place they could 'afford' their house. Not talking about those who have lost jobs and have made reasonable desicions. I used to live in a town where there was a GM plant. The janitors that were working there (knew some personally) were making $30 for pushing a broom! No wonder they are going bankrupt! I also worked at a Dr. office in that area. My patients(and friends) that worked there told me how great is was to work at GM. No insurance coming out of your paycheck, just a $15 copay at the Dr. office, and they complained about that to me, and I had no health insurance at all! Also paid 1 hour lunch breaks. I think GM should just go bankrupt and get rid of the union. The only reason I don't think they want to otherwise they'll have to give up their precious private jet. Anyways, I think it's pretty cool you live in India. I actually want to go visit Ireland and India someday. I have an instructor from India. He's my chemistry instructor. He is truely brilliant, just absolutely brilliant! He's such a great teacher, I wish I had more teachers like him! I can actually learn chemistry, which is a pretty tough subject for me.

Again I ask, what recession? I am living in America right now. I have 3 children, and my husband is the only one that works. We manage to pay our rent, utilities, and buy food without a problem. Anyone in America that knows about any recession? Because I for one don't know of any.

.....but majority of the people would like to go there. It may be an exception for some people like you.Ofcourse travelling & sight seeing is entirely different.I would like to go to each & every country for that. Again I agree with your point of America being the most affected with recession.

Maybe its because there are more opportunities in America. Maybe its because America is the land of the free.

Land of the free means the United States of America has freedom unlike some countries that don't. We can say what we feel with out authorities coming after us. We can speak against the government without repercussions. We can drive anywhere we wish without fear of armed men detaining us. We can come and go and do everything and anything has long as we don't break the laws of the land.

Because United States of America is a country of excellence and this thought is inculcated to the mind of all people around the globe. Plus being the most powerful and influential country of all and maybe the safety is also an option for them. And maybe you can find a lot of place to stay if you felt like that you are discriminated on a certain state or nation.

I think the earnings are high there and all people from any nation is welcome there and they can easily settle in a good job. Also there are more seniors of your friends or relatives already there and you don't miss your home much or think of being left alone. But things are changing now.Americans are seeing foreigners as rivals and stealing their jobs. This should be changed soon.Otherwise we can't see people longing to go to America anymore.Cheers!

I think not everyone prefers to settle down in the US. Many people, specially people who don´t have many opportunities in their native country, believe the US is a place where they will get all they want. But people with more knowledge know that you can and must do your thing. And the place is not that important. I always prefered to live in my country and I had the opportunity to live in other places, including the US where I lived for un year and a half. So your question is a half truth. As US being the land of the free, there are other countries that are as free or more. But I do think the Americas give more opportunities to people who are willing to work because there´s a lot of space.

Maybe because it is the most developed country in the world. i've been there for 1 time and this country really impressed me, maybe because i am from China and there are too much difference between these two country. American have much more freedom than any other countries, there are more chance there and you can live a simple and comfortable life there too.
