Recently McDonalds just had beanie babies for their happy meal toys. I think there were around 50 of them in the set. I used to collect beanie babies and had not heard a thing about them for so long that when I seen this it surprised me. Being curious I checked on ebay to see what the set was selling for and it ranged from $70 to as much as $100 for the complete set. This was also a surprise, it makes me think that people are still collecting them. I remember when they first came around, I seen them and thought "yeah they are cute" but it became a big thing and my aunt started buying them for me and before I knew it I was going to our local paper store every thurday to see what new ones were out. Then they had the big list that showed what was retired, which ones were out, and which ones would be comming. Then it was really becomming a craze, prices went up and special ones were really expensive. Plastic tag protectors came out and also plastic boxes to put them in. All to keep them safe and in new condition. It almost made you not want to touch them at all. Anyway, I have 2 large totes full of them in storage and have not thought about them much until I seen them at McDonalds, again, because they had them once years ago during the craze. Do you still collect beanie babies or know someone that does. Were you at one point caugh up in the beanie baby craze or did you avoid it completely. I'm interested in hearing your beanie baby story. Please share.
