18 Kids & Counting....

The Duggar family from the TLC show, 18 Kids & Counting are pregnant! Is it weird or is it just me? Not long after they got married they announce that they are pregnant. Although I knew this would happen, wouldn't it make more sense to enjoy being a newly married couple first and then gradually make the family bigger? I guess it makes sense for them. But how would you have done it? Would you be too overwhelmed by a huge family like that and just want to relax with your wife/husband before having children or would you do it how Josh and Anna did it and have 'em babies right away? I would wait. Enjoy my marriage, not stress it, see how things work out. Maybe travel, see new things, do new things, before adding more to my new family and then resenting it later.

I think that is so irresponsible. How could they possibly have enough time to pay attention to all 18? Do they all have insurance, enough food, space?

Well, their parents have 18 kids, including the one who is newly married. They do have enough space and food, all thanks to their tv show, probably but they also have rental properties which they rent to people and can otherwise make money. They don't have to worry about food and space. Insurance, maybe but when Jon and Kate started off they probably weren't making a lot of money from their show and now they're making over $78, 000 an episode. So, who knows how much the Duggars make from their show.

I do keep up with this family. I think it's irresponsible to have this many children. I know the reasonings behind why they had all of these children...and apparently they have passed these morals on to their children. I think the 1st few years of marriage is important to have alone time with just the husband and wife. It puts a lot of strain on the marriage and individuals with a new baby plus a new marriage. I hope it all works out well for them.
