last August 16, 2009, we celebrated our town fiesta in honor of Sr. San Roque. It's an annual celebration and there were lots of activities. I most enjoyed the 9 days nightly cultural presentation by the different schools. Local celebrities also came to town to make the occassion more fun. As usual, we prepared lots of foods for the visitors. It was really fun. Do you also celebrate fiesta?

Because the Philippines is a predominantly a Catholic country, fiestas are everywhere. But what i observe is that fiestas are more extravagant in the rural areas rather than in the metropolis, mainly because maybe there are a lot of non catholic and people are too busy working.

Magpa San Mig Light ka naman! (Uh oh, I might get banned for speaking my language. Mods I'm sorry, that is just the way it is. You cannot appreciate that word if you will write or speak it in English because that phrase becomes word of mouth of any individual here in the Philippines, geez) Treat us with San Mig Light! (That's the translation). From what city or province did you come from? We also celebrated our Fiesta here in Pampanga. :)
