Is it just me or does it seem that ever since the minimum wage went up in america, jobs are becoming harder and harder to find? Why is this? Do you think small business owners are going to have trouble remaining in business?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but it seemed to me that as the economy kept going down, jobs got harder and harder to find. Thousands of people have gotten laid off. I always thought it was because of the state of the economy, but maybe that's just me. Even I was one of those unfortunate ones who got laid off and I haven't been able to find a job since. It's been almost five months now. I got laid off because the company wasn't doing as well as it used to and there just wasn't enough work for everyone.

Minimum wage will make it harder for smaller companies that are struggling, to hire people. But the state of the economy is the real problem here. The economy is bad and I think it's only going to get worse. The news reports that financial experts see signs of an improving economy...really? Every month hundreds of thousands of people lose their jobs in the US...and the unemployment rate may be around 15% by the holidays. That number doesn't factor in the people who lost their jobs 18 months ago, 2 years ago and have never found full-time work and it also doesn't factor in the number of older citizens who had their retirement money severely reduced or wiped out by the stock market. There were very few people who were hurt badly by this recession...those "in the know" and those that didn't have any money to make investments with. Your right ryanflores, it is hard to find a job....it has been for about a year before they raised the wage...and that isn't going to help the small business owners. Get whatever job you can, make $$ online, do whatever you can to make money. I hope it's going to get better....but I really don't see how it will any time soon.

Yes, jobs are hard to find these days. The economy right now is bad, and the national debt keeps rising every year cutting costs just to pay some of it off. I can assure you when the economy is good again there will be many jobs that are looking for help, but for now, I am trying to make a living online. In fact, we are doing so right now!

I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that min wage went up. Jobs are just straight up hard to find in this economy. Jobs are so much more precious now than they were before. People tend to tough it out and stick with jobs they may not particularly like because finding a new one would be really difficult right now. I myself am job searching, so I know how it is! I had to leave my job behind to move for my husband's job. So now here I am in this awful economy trying to find a teaching position. They always need teachers, yet it's still difficult to find jobs!

Everyone wants extra income so they are making use of the online opportunities. It is really normal during this time of economy crisis.
