Why do we rely on religion? As a means to thank for having a life of satisfaction or for the fear of death or for wanting answers for all the questions you have on your creator? Is there any other reasons for you to need a religion?Share your valuable ideas and remarks!

I think religion is to do good for the people. It is to help the people to live a good life without disturbing others, but helping each other. It is also to give a lot of self confidence to the people saying that god will take care of them and will help them out of their sorrows. It is also for people giving them an opportunity to share the happiness of their life and thank god by singing and praying together in a group. What do you say Ganesh? Am I right? But, I don't think all of the purposes of religion are met in our society. Instead people are considering religion as a measure and easy way to kill others and be selfish.

Yes!Religions preach us morals and try to keep us humans. But we fight in the name of religions.Keep it apart! But why an individual focus on his own religion is my question? Is it out of gratitude, scare or seeking answers?Does he feel insecure without a religion?

We dont need religion to teach us good and bad and that too so many varities. Our conscience is the best master.

Every religion instills fear in us. If we dont do this or that u will be punished by God is what we are taught from childhood. this creates fear. Most people visit church and temples and mosques not out of love for God, but fearing not doing so will invite the wrath of God. This is rubbish. No God punishes us. We are not punished for our sins. We are punished BY our sins

See my friend the period when the religion concept was started then at that time the religion thinks only one thing that to serve mankind and truly the RELIGION word only means to live for the people or anyhow to make others happy. But, there were some ill-soul people who made religion very harsh and now also who tell themseleves religious think that there are some hard core rules to be truly religious.

Yes!The original idea of religion is misunderstood and some people who claim authority for the religions are imposing hard rules on people and threaten them in the name of God.That is different. But why should an individual need religion? Why can't he feel free without religious thoughts?

A good conscious mind can distinguish the right from the wrong of its own.A religion shall endorse the feelings and it is not much needed more than to preach good morals.I don't accept religions are seen differently only now.Even in the past there are more wars in the name of religions, even inter religious wars are there.

Today religion is for only one purpose--- to fight in its name. The original meaning of religion is brotherhood. To live as brothers and sisters. Today the word has reached such level of interpretation, that it has everything except brotherhood or compassion. It is a shame that people are so fanatical about religion which is nothing but a man made phenomena. When will we learn live as human beings? God created just men and women, Rest is all man created with selfish motives

That is the sad truth and fact about religions. All religions speak of brotherhood but can't tolerate brothers of other religions.Even then,we all have some religious inclinations and why it is needed? What do we expect from having beliefs on religious ideas? Is it security or greed?

I believe that religion is a philosophy, a way of living. Its a path that tries to guide us through our life. It tries to teach us to do good.
