there's nothing like newest model in desktop computer if you are assemling a system but if you are going for a branded one then yes, comes the new models in desktop computers. i will recommend you to assemble your system rather than buyin a whole system of one brand. there are many parts of system that you need to know and are up to date like the heart of the computer ie. the cpu, the newest model that is out rite now is the intel core i7, but it will not work if u have a lga775 slot. the best cpu for the 775 is the core 2 quad q9650 which is the best and will full fill all your requirements.

I think desktop computer has no change alot. Usually a vendor only redesign its casing. But some major vendors have changing the technology inside a CPU by using smallest hardware to reducing the CPU size. But however, desktop still desktop. It's not suitable for mobile using, or even it's impossible for mobile using. But don't look down its technology. Actually we can easily upgrading a desktop CPU because we can do it ourselves. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

the coolest is definitely the iMac, although not especially affordable. Asus are soon releasing their newest Eeetop's. they're pretty cool and not too expensive with blu-ray drive, HDMI, touch screen, windows 7 etc... great little machine. if you are looking for a very powerful machine for a low price, my advice would be to get a custom built one. there are companies that build them to your spec and they are normally considerably cheaper.

There are a lot of online stores offering you the possibility to configure a desktop. You just need to think about the applications you run on a computer, if you want to play games, to edit high definition movies or just surf the internet. I can tell you this because my job is to sell computers. If you just want to surf the net, watch a movie and listen some music you have to invest minimum. The price rises when you want to edit movies because you need a powerful processor like Intel Quad Core or Intel Core i7 . Else, you want to play games you need a good processor like Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion x2 and a high performances video card with a lot of DDR3 dedicated memory. Anyway , I wish you good luck in finding the right computer for you and to continue myloting from it !
