Why go all in.

I play online alot for fun (play money). But I just don't get it, why do people go all in on every hand? I thought that people were there to learn how to play instead of trying to see how fast that they can build their bank account. Normally those are the people that lose eveything, what do you learn from that? I just like going to play to learn how to read others and how to bet at certain times. But with people not caring what happen it takes away from the game. You don't see those people playing that way with real money. So what do you think about people going all in on every hand?

If you don't want people to go all in that much then perhaps it is an idea to play for real money. Don't worry you don't have to deposit money just go for a no deposit bonus and you'll be playing versus serious people.

Yeah, well as much as I'd like that to be true, real money tables are still played by fishes, so most of them will be either too conservative (and just play by the odds) or maniacs. But still it's much more rewarding than play money

I've started playing in the World Tavern Poker league recently, here in the Poconos (Pennsylvania, US). There are tournaments in various bars all over the US. These are "free" games where you're playing for chips and not money. If you try to make side bets on games, you get kicked out. Despite this, almost all the players are serious players and make crazy plays - except of course when bluffing. I think the players are serious because they are trying to qualify for regional tournaments where if you win, you gain entry into a national tourney in Las Vegas or Atlantic City. This is a great way to play because you learn more how to read your opponent when you're face to face. You might check worldtavernpoker.com to see if there are any bars near you that run games. Although the bars run the games to get customers, you don't have to drink a lot to play.

I guess they have "the maniac" in their genes . Although there are less maniacs in real money games, I assure you there's plenty of them, especially at low stakes tables. But you should take this to your advantage as sooner or later you'll catch a monster hand and you'll break him ;) The backside is that it all depends on luck with these people. So my advice is be patient and wise

As you said, they don't learn and have no interest to learn. They just want to collect play chips asap. Sadly there is no site where people play for play chips, seriously. Those ppl that play the shove every hand game will never learn and so it's best to just ignore that stuff and deposit or find a staker.

If you are not playing for money or are playing for low stakes, you'll encounter a lot of idiots who the way to play is to try and win a lot of pots early. There are others who feel they need to play every hand. I think the best thing to do is to sit and watch early on, unless I have good cards or I'm in one of the blinds. If you can wait, the idiots will use up all their chips and be out of the game leaving the real players behind.

Like you, I hate playing with people who go all-in all the time!! Especially if they have no hand! Unless they're bluffing - but really, what kind of bluffing are you gonna do with fake money anyway! Anyways, I love playing hold'em. And I can't stand playing online with fake chips. I can't play online with real money because gambling online is illegal in the States. So I usually get my fix at the local casino. Which I actually haven't done in a while. Maybe this weekend. =)
