Cell phone are a terrible "sore spot" with me. I thin it is an invention that just go so far out of hand and out of control, it is not even funny anymore. So on my soap box I go...... I think cell phones are so out rageous in use it is pathetic that people think they have to have one so badly. I am sorry, but other than maybe a doctor or lawyer, I just don't see that anyone needs to be accessible 24/7/365 like cell phones offers. Why do you want to be accessible that much? Don't people like down time, or alone time? Do people always have to tell everyone everthing they ever say aand do like with Twitter? People don't care what you are doing specifically every minute of the day, they just do it cause everyone else does it!! IF all you have to say to me is 127 letters worth of a conversation.. please, just skip me in your contact list! Granted SOMETIMES and only sometimes, a quick text note is more efficient that a phone call... like "I'm on my way" or "Don't forget to pick up the kids today" or something like that, but I was raised as were my kids and many before us, without a cell phone or answer machine... and we always got to where we were going, or did what we needed to do. Texting just means the end of the Age of Spoken Conversation. What a loss that is to the human race. Plus... how many time do you look at who is calling or texting and you say.. "let it got o voice mail.. I don't want to talk right now" or something like that? So being totally accessible isn't always a good thing. I dont think people need to be talking or texting on their cell phones while driving.. but they do. I don't think they need to be talking or texting while shopping... but they do and to be at a resturant and talking or texting... good grief.. don't you want some "me time" or down time or just time to clear your head and enjoy your food? I am surprised they have not come out with a medical diease called "CPA - Cell Phone Addiction" and no matter what mistake you make or trouble you get into, if you can find a doctor that will diagnose you with CPA... you get off scott-free from any responsibility for your actions.. or lack there of. I'd rather they didn't text me! I hate texting! I have a landline, I am home quite often, and when I"m not I have a nice answer machine for messages... CALL ME!!!

I can't really be without my cell phone, as I don't have a land line, so communication wih others is very necessary. I use mine for talking mostly, but my friend and I do text once in awhile. I like that too, as it is lots of fun, and I can get my point across more I think, as when I am talking I forget what to say most of the time. I do need my cell phone, for all that I do. Have a good day, and happy mylotting.
