Do you think that social networking is the latest craze or here to stay?

Hey friends, Just been wondering about social networking, wondering how well do you all like it? Also wondering what your thoughts were on it and if you think it's something that's just a trend or craze that's here today and gone tomorrow, or something that we'll probably have around forever, just like cell phones? Thank you all for kind and genuine responses. Also please feel free to share how social networking has enhanced your life if you don't mind.

I think it'll be around for a long time, really. Just not in as great of strength as it is today. The strength already has seemed to diminish even today, it seems. Really, what's keeping it alive is places outside of the US being able to express them through places like facebook, youtube, etc. So in a sense, a political frenzy of people and TV networks airing their stuff & all those people visiting it on the web because it was being aired on TV. So, that alone could carry it for months, if not years. However, if you've read in various articles the actual young audience is clearly getting bored of it as there has been a significant drop of college kids and the like visiting which was the big thing for Facebook when it started. Myspace was more of a highschool kids thing. However, now it seems that the older generations are starting to dominate it as it's a perfect place to look for old classmates and friends & the best thing about it is unlike every other place like it, places like facebook don't charge a dime to go around the site. Either way, they'll still make millions of dollars for years to come is what i'm predicting.

i just use social networking groups to do marketing and socializing with others. i like to share tips and other information with others for fun. it is similar to a business form of profile pages. so, i am sure it will stay for a while, but the methods might improve and change.

I think its here to stay but as technology advances further I don't see it being done the same as it is now for too long.

In my personal opinion social networking is something that consumes a very great amount of one's time and in my case its been a colossal waste of time because i've learnt nothing new or gotten nothing useful. But to be honest i got a couple of friends who are really good to me and i treasure their friendship but of late they have also become too busy to use that site.

I certainly feel that Social Networking sites are here to say and I for one am glad, I don't know where I would be without Facebook, I have found so many people from my past that I would not have found had it not been for the internet. I have also found out a lot more about new music through social networking sites as I am friends with a few artists on Facebook and Myspace.

Unless the net is torn down it is here to stay... Cell phones added to the social networking experience and to break what is a growing necessity for many to maintain stability in their lives as a tool for obvious reasons I would say this community gathering together is a good force as a source of available information and protection can be derived from having a friend to reach out to when needed.

Social networking sites were there since my childhood & always been a craze to me. But since I've joined myLot, I think the craze had gone down a little bit & I think i'm into some serious money earning & fun. Since myLot has many advantages over a networking site(that's my point of view), I prefer myLot now & don't have enough time to visit any networking sites now Happy Lotting

I never got into social networking. I tried myspace, and never went on it or anygthing. Then I tried facebook, and the same thing. I just don't find it appealing or interesting.
