I think its making us lazy, we dont have to go out to chat to friends any more, just turn on the PC. But do we know who we are chatting to? at least face to face we can see our friends

Very true, face to face we do see and feel what the person is acting and talking like, but online misunderstanding someone happens quite readily!

Yes and the young are targeted at an early age..which does make the future look even more that way! Thank you for replying!

I think so. I have friends that I talk to on line and we keep saying that we're going to get together and do something, but it never seems to happen.

The internet may be replacing the amount of face to face chatting we do, but it has increased the variety of people we chat with.

I think it is. People are bcoming more lazy and looking for easier ways to do everything. You can talk to anyone in the world online and it only costs as much as your ISP per month.

I feel you are right sadly, if the internet chatting complemented chatting it would be good, but as you point out "lazy" is detremental in the long run. Thank you for your response

I believe that internet chat has replaced it because you can talk to anyone on the internet and face to face its a little hard to unless you feel like taking the travel time to see one person just to have a conversation that will last 1 hour or so then have to take all the travel time to make it home for work the next day.

I think it's not replacing face to face chatting, but just an addiction.

I think it makes people kinda anti-social. You can be anyone on the net but face to face you are just you and some people can't deal with that

True, thank you for your response...maybe some people are really themselves as they drop their masks and are free to express their thoughts too
