american culture reflected through movies?

hi friends, i love to watch American movies, i adore the story and the amazing visual effect like transformers. science fictions are great, thriller and action movies pumped my adrenalin. anyway, is American culture reflected through their movies? i would like to focus on "American pie" movies. what do you think? is it one of American culture? where the college students can do whatever they want? i hope i can get the accurate answer through your opinion guys.
