A Pakistan reality contestant contesting in a reality show drowns with a 7kg(15 lbs) backpack while swimming. The contest is to swim across a lake wearing backpacks with some weight in it.He was wearing a backpack with 7ks in it & this resulted in his death. The crew were not ready for things like this. They should have made necessary arrangements to avoid such circumstances. Whose fault is it anyway? Is it of the contestant or the organizers?

Reality shows in my clear cut view doesn't show reality at all and runs after whole scripted show.I wouldn't risk my body for the rating of the show to increase, many would like the adventure part of it,but upon proper thinking they will surely get to know that what it means. The incident you mentioned has to be the fault of the whole scripted program, people fall for that fame one gets through these shows but which risks life is not what one would want.Well every reality show of such sorts have safety measures but life can go in a mere fraction of a second, the show can't be blamed, the people taking part can't be blamed then who actually,we audience who like to see all the acts being performed by normal untrained people i.e people like us only.T.v channels bring shows on people's demands right, then isn't the blame to be taken by ourselves.

Unfortunately Id say its more the contestant´s fault than the organizers for the reality show. When you participate in reality shows that involve risk, so they can "guard" themselves from a potential lawsuit or getting charged for negligence, or a serious felony like murder, participants sign willingly agreements that strips any responsability to the organizers themselves if anything was to happen to the contestant.. as unfair as it is, its also legal.

I would say it is the contestants fault. I'm sure when they signed up for the show they had to sign something that says the organizers aren't at fault if they get injured. Plus, if you were starting to drown, wouldn't you take the backpack off? It may partially be the organizers fault, or at any rate the camera people. Wouldn't you stop filming and try to help them if you saw they were drowning? it's not like it would happen in a split second. They had to have watched them struggling and going under.

wow that sounds extremeley hard even if i am a fast swimmer i was once on the swim team but i don't think i could swim very fast with extra weight on me. because i get tired fast carrying my own weight so i don't think i would ever do that show. but i wouldn't mind doing another risk show like eating bugs or jumping off of buildings that sounds fun and dangerous. theres a show like that called fear factor in the u.s it is very scary!! but its worth the money, i had a chance to be on the show but i didn't take it so i might try to fill out a form soon who knows i might win. and surprisingly i have not heard of one person dying on that show. maybe i should look up injuries though. well thank you for the question and happy mylotting.

hey there. I guess it is both the contestants fault and the organizers. You would have thought there would be some safety precautions in place in case something went wrong as it did in this occassion. The contestant must have signed a waver to ensure that the organisers could not be held responsible. Wht did the contestant not take it off when he was in difficulty or say he was struggling. Wierd that something so tragic happened.

Hello my friend Maybe a little of both, that was sad and unnecessary what ever happened to people in the water to help when someone is in trouble, if they would have done this no one would have lost their life, what a sad thing, yeah someone is to blame, I am sure the guy thought he could do it, I don't get it, where was everyone when he was drowning? how contestants was in the water? this was really

I am not interested in any reality show that require me to do something dangerous for a mere $100,000 or more. They can keep the money, my life worth more than that. But in the situation that you stated, I don't blame the show. The contestant should already realized the danger when he entered the program. He probably miscalculated how dangerous it was. So it's a lesson learnt to those who are still interested for such show.

that's very very silly of them, they should tried it themselves to find out.. and not putting that on the contestants, and that's not funny at all.i bet the show was kinda banned after that, right? they should have fired those organizers for doing such idiotic risk.

In my own point of view, the organizers fail to establish a concrete rules/ guidelines for the said contest. Given the scenario that the task is too risky, they should secure all points to meet the expectations of the players that will prevent them from being harmed.

Both's fault. Contestant is blinded by the winning prize and organizer using their ignorance to push up the show rating. Both of them looking at the same thing which is money. Now they know money can't buy everything.

It's the organizers fault that he drowned, but his fault for getting involved in it in the first place and also for not being a good enough swimmer.
