Do you think having an advanced degree helps boost your career?

I have a masters degree and I don't really feel that it makes a big difference when it comes to searching for a high paying job. Instead I have found that number of years of experience definitely gives you an upper hand in getting you into the hot seat. Some of my colleagues don't even have a degree but they are either equally or paid more than me. I don't mean to diminish anyone but was just trying to emphasize the point that having an advanced degree alone isn't enough to get you have high paying job. Do you think the same?

I think you're right - that's why I chose to get some work experience before getting a master's degree. I think the real world is still very much different than the theoretical that we all study, whether it be master's or even doctorate. I currently have almost three years of experience - and TRYING my hardest to save up for my master's degree. Hopefully I'll be back in school fall of next year, we'll see.
