What is the true meaning of the pentagram? I still hear different meanings. Arguments over if it is good or bad. How does one become a Wiccan? Can you recommend some good sites so I can learn? What are some basics for beginners?

Rule no1: don't listen to anyone. Read "The Spiral Dance." Read "Ariadne's Thread." Read "Buckland's Complete Guide to Witchcraft." They are all good beginnings. Age has nothing to do with it. Websites have nothing to do with it. If you do nothing else, read Buckland's. It will give you the best, most well-rounded idea of what Wicca is, what you need to know, and what is BS. But don't listen to me: read for yourself. I'm not saying Buckland's is the Wiccan bible -- there's no such thing. But he's responsible, simple, easy to understand and user-friendly.

Thank you. I've seen a lot of Buckland's books. I didn't know anything about Authors so I never bought any books.

All of Raymond Buckland's books are great basics. What I love about him is he's so practical. Like if you're making incense and the ingredients call for bat's wing, he doesn't say, "oh, you're screwed. You can't make this incense." He says, "no one really used bat's wing. It was common to use code words for ingredients that one wanted to keep secret. This is what was normally used. You can use *this* or *this*, but if you don't have it, and you have something else that you like the scent of, use what you have. Your incense should be meaningful to you; if it smells bad, you're not going to be thinking about your magic." Practical.

Ido have sites that I'm a member of if you would like the name email me and add me as a friend. Learn to meditate is the first step in beginning Wiccan. Have a room in your house that you can change to promote good over evil. Never try a spell by yourself at home alone, the same goes for a spellboard reading...or the famous you know what board. Any way these site can give you answers. Also you need to be over the age of 18. If younger than 18 you need to wait. Wiccan isn't for everyone and no it isn't evil. The pentagram is the similar to the star of David, the points on it have meanings. Earth,Air,Water,Spirit, and mineral or to the christian represent the 5 wounds of Jesus. Wiccan use the pentagram in rituals pointing to the north star and so on you have to read about and learn before attempting to use it, contact me and I'll be happy to guide you to the Modern Wiccans. Happy mylotting
