Do you give to charity?

Since the recession hit, so many people are tightening their belts and these days a lot of charitable organizations are suffering, too, because of the lack of funds coming in. It's a chain reaction. I still donate to charities every now and then. I particularly donate to animal shelters because I love animals. I also like donating to dedicated charities for kids, cancer awareness and AIDS. How many of you are still giving to charity?Oh, and sometimes I also give away old stuff to salvation army:-)

I donate and participate in charity events. My friend and I do fundraisers together as we find the donations just are not as big or frequent as our goals require. We raise monies for Coast to Coast it is a Cancer charity, we are involved in the Tour for Kids which supports kids cancer camps. There is a large decrease in the donations so we just changed our efforts to bbqs and golf s tournaments, kids dances etc. and are actually doing quite well this year. I personally have tried to increase my contributions to charities that are personal to me. I am hoping to increase the amounts yearly even if it is just $10 more. My family also gives to the Community Living program which redistributes items or sells your items to provide members of the community with their needs. My father also works for a homeless shelter, and he and I donate to their outreach van sandwiches 4 times a year and 2 dinners during the winter to the Out of the Cold program. That is great that you donate as well, every little bit helps :-)
