Would You Leave Everything Behind?

Recently my boyfriend and I decided to take off on an adventure around the world. We sold, donated and tossed all of our possessions, quit our jobs and took off hitchhiking East to Philadelphia, where we are catching a plane to Dublin, Ireland. From there we will hop to England and Jump to France, then the rest of the world. Practically everyone I have met has said they could not do what we have done. Could you?

Wow! You and your boyfriend have courage and an amazing sense of adventure. I love to travel but I keep a base in my home country to return to. In 1993 I let out my home, got a working holiday visa for Australia and bought my airline ticket around the world. I spent just over one year away. I was able to visit the USA, Fiji, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. I wish you lots of luck with your exciting trip. I hope that you will able to update My Lot members with your geographical progress. An idea for you is for you to travel from Moscow to Beijing on the Trans Siberian Railway when you have completed seeing as much of Europe as you wish.

Thank you. That's very cool that you've been able to see so much. I greatly appreciate the suggestion, although we are extremely poor. We camp, we eat at soup kitchens, busk on street corners and hitchhike. We are unable to afford a train ticket. Again I thank you for your suggestion though. If I am ever able to make enough money I definitely will follow your advice.

I admire you for your courage,i do believe that not all can make such a dicision. For me,i do not have such courage to quit my job and bet what i owned. But i think you must have a lot of gains.it may be a truth the more you give up ,the more you gain.

Thank you very much. I can tell you that from giving up all I had, I am a much happier person. Not having the burden of "stuff" is an amazing feeling.

Hi! Yes i could, and I am doing it. :) Actually I am very near to you first destiny - Ireland. (bye the way, I LOVED Ireland!) I am at this moment in England. I am here since january. I came alone with 4 friends but when they gave up(...) I stayed here alone and I donĀ“t regret it. Of course I miss my family and my friends, but we have our own lifes to live. Next year I probably will go to other country. My ideia it's not only travel, but to leave for some months in a diferent country. Good luck to you! After that, you will be stronger as a human being.
