Religion.....it can be hard.

Before solidifying my faith in God and becoming a Christian, I hunted around for the perfect church to call "Home." It was a long and drawn out search, one that acutally made it harder for me to be a Christian. I was searching for a perfect church and perfect congregation, and all I found were people that were praising God on Sunday and living the high life the rest of the week. It really turned me off to religion as a whole. I knew that I loved God and wanted to be apart of the Christian community, but I figured that I had to go about it all alone because it seemed that church was full of sinners. Have you had a similar experience with church? Have a hard time finding a church without all the human corruption? One thing that I have noticed is that no matter which religion you choose, there will always be gossipers, sinners, drinkers, smokers and liars. One of them may even be you. But you can find a home in any religion if you hold on to your faith and believe in God. Do you agree?

Travelling...Since when was their a Church without sinners... Haven't you ever seen a sign posted in front of churches that say "Sinners welcomed"...if we were perfect, we wouldn't need to go to church. True there are some Christians who seem to do their weekend duty and attend services because they feel that is their religious obligation..and when they leave, they have forgotten everything they have heard. But there are alot of Christians who try their best to live up to Jesus' approval ...Unfortunately, you may not know who these people are, because they don't hang a sign around themselves, and tell everyone, that they are trying to be a good follower of Christ. Humilty is what we should have...not boast about our relationship with Christ. When someone founds Christ, in a more deeper sense than just going to services on Sunday, you find yourself being attracted to those who are alike in Spirit. I always think the your spirit will lead you to the spirit of others...you will find those Christians who seek more than just the rituals and obligations.

You will NEVER find a perfect Church, because there is no such thing. If there was such a thing as a perfect Church, it would be a failure, because it would not be reaching out to those outside belief. There are, however, many Churches where the Word of God is upheld and Christ is exalted, and where the members endeavour to follow Him throughout every area of their lives, encouraging and supporting one another. Of course they will fail at times. No one is perfect, and becoming a Christian certainly doesn't make one perfect. It must also be taken into account that MANY Church-attenders are NOT true Christians. There are many reasons for people to attend Church, but attending a Church does not make one a Christian. The Church and Christianity should not be judged on the merits or demerits of anyone attending. I am thankful for the Church I attend. It is a gathering of about 300 each week with many mid-week meetings. Members care for one another and help one another and reach out into the community with their love and care. No one there is perfect and there are some who are very far from perfect, but that is the way it should be.

For me, frankly speaking, I don't know when I began to believe in God exactly. And I never wanted to find a prefect place without sinners. But when I found I believe in God, and I began to worship in church, I found the church is not pure as it should be. It's truth. And some brothers and sisters tell me negative news in church. And some friends of mine, non-Christian, ask me why many christian they meet, their behavior is wrong, even worse than non-christian's. These problems maked me confused once. But what I learn now is we must stare at God only instead of persons around us including ourselves. Because everyone has his/her shortcoming. If we always stare at persons, we will be weak. And when we stare at God, we're also support to imitate his behavior and mind. So I keep on worshipping in church and participating in the fellowship. And we help each other and worship God together there. It's so wonderful and meaningful!
