I believe that President Obama's speech should be shown in the classroom. This may be another motivational tool to encourage our young people to stay in school. Have everyone seen the dropout rate in this nation? As parents and concern citizens, we should be encouraging our young people anyway we can. What do you think?

I think schools handled it correctly in some cases by not forcing it down the students throat and if parents didn't want their kids in there for it they did not have to go and watch it. I will say you hit one thing on the head Parents and all need to be concerned. Your words and I quote: As parents and concern citizens, we should be encouraging our young people anyway we can. But yes people need to step up mainly the parents.

I just graduated from high school this June and I was happy that almost all of my classmates graduated with me. There's no harm in showing the president's speech in class and if it could help some students, then the teachers should definitely do it.
