Women mistreating their feet because of fashion.

Ladies, I have been reading an article from the BBC which says that women risk their feet because of fashion. Even though that their shoes are too tight and uncomfortable, women will still want to wear the shoes. This can cause problems like corn or ingrown nails. What do you ladies think about that? i had done that. i was really smitten by the design and quality but when i asked the salesclerk for the size, only the next size down was available. i took in the salesclerk's word that the shoes will stretch when this is frequently used. ladies, do not wear ill-fitting shoes. it is not only very painful, it creates dark spots on ur feet and may cause corn or ingrown nails. i am experiencing that now.

I remember my mother used to warn me about wearing shoes with very high heels when I was younger. I did not heed her advise but went on to wear the very fashionable high heeled shoes. I used to think that I'd rather be uncomfortable than be unfashionable. But now that I have arthritis, I no longer desire high heeled shoes but opt for the more comfortable low heeled designs. I have to choose comfort over design now otherwise I won't be able to walk around because of aching feet.

Hmmm...well..it's official now...I am not fashionable! I am so picky about my feet and always have been. There is no way I could wear a pair of shoes that didn't fit properly! I have a sister that was born with one hip shorter than the other and my mother was always fanatic about getting her corrective shoes and I guess that is why that was embedded in my head early on. I have never worn a pair of shoes just for fashion sake. I'm all about the comfort!!! Although no fashionable I am comfortable! LOL

I think you are right. some women do suffer from the fashion shoes. I was one before. i had very high heel shoes when i went to work. I had to suffer the pain from the shoes, and my weight was on the thin high heels that put me at a risk of falling or hurting. I did fall twice and also hurt my ankle one time. Now i realised it was a silly behaviour. Now i just have the shoes that make me feel comfortable. I'm lucky i have many choices of shoes here. So i never feel upset when i go out to shop shoes, especially the casual shoes. I wish all women can realise it and stop dressing the high heel shoes. Anyway the fashion magazine or fashion media should take some responsible for it, especially not mislead young girls.

I admit that sometimes I do that when I work because I normally wear suits but I try to keep the "torturing of my feet" to a minimal to avoid ingrown nails/corn. Thankfully, I have not yet experienced this because as much as possible, I avoid shoes that are too tight for my feet.
