how early did you start SAVING money???

can you help me out? i'm 22 years old and i'm somewhat torn between saving and spending my guts out!! i just don't know but most people i know that are about my age seem not to think about what i'm deleberating right now... but for me, thoughts of like opening a savings account and really trying to save for a rainy day seems to be lurking already in my mind... currently, i have no work that actually sustains because i'm a volunteer but i know that i can still manage to spare even a little bit each day... maybe it's best to try it out now but spending the money i've saved after some time had been also my problem before...and i don't want to end up just the same way...

Hi jaimz! I started saving money when I was in gradeschool I got a piggy bank way back then, I carry that out until I went to college. At the time I started to earn money from work I decided to open an account. I did well in saving, until I needed to withdraw some of the money I got to invest it to a small family business. I think its important to save money than to spend every penny you got.If you're gonna spend it to important ventures then I think its worth to spend every dime you got for you know you're gonna earn from it. Saving money helps us to be secure in the future. Like in my case, when my father got hospitalized and we needed money right away, I was able to help. :) I know you can do it. Just think about you're future and you'll gonna take actions to save money more than before.

Yes you should be saving at your age now. Don't force yourself into saving that much. Maybe like 5-10% of your earnings every month. That will be fine. Do not be so hard on yourself though. I mean, don't deprive yourself of something you really wanted to buy. They say great things start from small beginnings. So we don't know how far your savings can go in a few years from now right? Your still young and there will still be many money to come. =)

Hi There, I started saving as soon as i got job from day1 itself. I think everybody should do their part in saving some amount that can be used in case of job loss or recession period.
