save or spend?

after you've worked for a while, and you get that long awaited paycheck- do you tend to spend most if not all of the money, or do you rather save for a rainy day? even though I automatically calculate all the things I can now afford with the money I got, I know I'm going to be needing it soon enough, once I've gone to uni. so what do you say? is it better to save up, or give in to the urge?
